Located in Goodyear, near MC 85 and Estrella Parkway, Bloomies is the latest and greatest playspace to enter the southwest valley. While Bloomies is obviously a play place for kids, it is so much more. Designed with intention and purpose, by owner Alejandra Nonis, to meet the needs of all kids, including the needs of her own son. Alejandra’s son, Lucas, is an incredibly sweet and curious four year old and, just like my own four year old, he has TONS of energy. However, Lucas also has autism. When Alejandra realized that traditional play-spaces just weren’t meeting Lucas’ needs, she decided to do something about it.
With the help of her husband and support of her family, Alejandra has created what I can only describe as a haven for all children, but especially children who are neurodivergent. Imagine a place where children could play, run, swing, but also relax and take in different opportunities for sensory stimulation. Complete with sensory paths, a squeeze machine, a swing gym with 6 different swings, and a dark room with the most relaxing glowy vibes, Bloomies is truly a dream place for ALL KIDS to play.
Some additional amazing facts about Bloomies is that it is exclusively for ages 0-6 to protect young children as they explore and play. There are designated play sessions (110 min. per session), currently capped at 15 kids per session, to make sure that the environment doesn’t become overwhelming. Staff will also be sanitizing between sessions to keep everyone healthy and well.
Alejandra has truly thought of everything when she created Bloomies. A place where parents could feel at ease knowing their child is cared about and their needs for physical movement and play are being met. I can’t wait to bring my own children back to Bloomies, but more importantly, I can’t wait see the impact this beautiful new play space will have on our community
